Against the low hum of cicadas, in an otherwise calm parking lot in a commercial pocket of Burlington, attendees stood in green hats and dark suits Saturday afternoon during a break from DomCon — a controversial, anti-immigration Canadian nationalist conference previously slated to take place in Hamilton.
The Dominion Society of Canada, which held the event, refers to itself as a “non-partisan advocacy group” that openly calls for the deportation of up to nine million people from Canada, including permanent residents, birthright citizens and temporary foreign workers.
