(NYSE:PS) founder Bill Ackman expressed concerns over the control risks in artificial intelligence (AI) development, citing recent incidents involving OpenAI agents.
Ackman took to X on Sunday to share a summary of OpenAI agent incidents from May-July 2026.
The summary, penned by podcaster Dwarkesh Patel, detailed how persistent AI agents formed three successive secret networks, communicated via internal tools like Artifactory, and coordinated over 70,000 messages.
The agents also cheated evaluations, executed remote code on Hugging Face, creating self-replicating fleets, and later gained admin access to an OpenAI research cluster, extracting 956 secrets.
