The state also connects central Mexico with the country's northern and western regions.The state has faced years of severe drug-related violence, including killings, disappearances and bodies being found in public places.In July, five people were found hanging from a bridge in the community of Pozos de Gamboa, about 75 kilometres from Ojocaliente. The victims included a former mayor, state employees and businesspeople from other parts of Zacatecas.Authorities have not yet identified those responsible for Sunday's bombing or disclosed a possible motive.
