Tom Cruise just went back to Daytona International Speedway to confirm what NASCAR fans have wanted for years. The 64-year-old actor is reprising his role as driver Cole Trickle in a sequel to "Days of Thunder," and this time he's got Anne Hathaway riding along.
Paramount locked the follow-up to the 1990 racing film for a June 2, 2028 release, shooting for IMAX screens under director Jonathan Levine. Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the original, returns alongside producer Tommy Harper to steer the project back onto the track.
