CIP’s investment, carried out through its Copenhagen Infrastructure V (CI V) fund, has facilitated the project's financial closing. The milestone was reached through an AUD-1.7-billion (USD 716.6m/EUR 1.05bn) syndicated loan extended by 10 banks, the Danish infrastructure fund said on Monday.The Gawara Baya Wind Farm is set to be installed 65 km (40.4 mi) southwest of the rural town of Ingham, in North Queensland’s Hinchinbrook Shire, and is expected to generate electricity for 240,000 local homes. The complex will be equipped with 68 turbines and an integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) of 104 MW. Its commissioning is scheduled for 2030.The project, which received environmental permission two years ago, has in place long-term offtake agreements with Stanwell and SmartestEnergy.
