Director Yoon Ga-eun was named Cultural Person of the Year as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Women’s Cultural Network prepare to honor 19 individuals and organizations Tuesday at the 19th Gender Equality Cultural Awards in Seoul. The annual ceremony at the National Library of Korea recognizes people and groups that have challenged stereotypes and advanced gender equality across arts, entertainment and athletics. The Cultural Content of the Year award went to Remarkable Women, while other honors went to the Feminist Designer Social Club, Kim Hong-hee and July Jung. Ministry officials said the laureates’ work aims to expand gender equality across society.
