Athens may be among the most popular global destinations for digital nomads but some of them would rather be at a quieter location.
Places out in the regions, such as Tripoli and Kalamata in the Peloponnese, or the islands of Chios and Corfu, but also less-traveled destinations, such as Leros and Kastoria, are opening shared working spaces to accommodate those digital nomads who would rather be in a quieter place, working while enjoying the views.
Digital nomads “could help lengthen the tourist season,” Marietta Kasti, co-creator of the Leros Way Project, which includes a coworking space, told Kathimerini.
“Digital nomads (on the islands of) Crete and Chios are a significant portion of visiting tourists...
This is a great opportunity for the island,” she adds.
