Atletico Madrid are in talks over a move for Juventus striker Jonathan David.Previously, Atletico had monitored a deal for Nicolas Jackson, but the striker has since joined Aston Villa from Chelsea. Atletico are now trying to bring in David on a season-long loan.Sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity so they could do so candidly, indicated a move for the 26-year-old Canada international go ahead, David’s arrival would be to increase the club’s depth at centre-forward rather than replace any of the strikers already at the club.Nevertheless, Julian Alvarez’s situation remains one to watch, with Arsenal and Barcelona maintaining an interest in the forward. Atletico have made it clear in recent days with multiple public statements that they do not wish to sell the Argentina international to the Catalan club.
