A Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Belgorod caused several casualties on Sunday, acting regional Governor Alexander Shuvaev said.
“According to preliminary information, there are casualties. Several fires have also been reported following the strikes,” Shuvaev said on Telegram, adding that emergency services were dispatched to the attack sites. He did not provide details on the number of people injured.
Local Telegram channels reported that Belgorod experienced at least one missile strike.
Videos shared on social media showed multiple fires burning across the city, including one reportedly near Belgorod’s television tower.
One of the strikes reportedly hit the Belgorod thermal power plant, where a fire broke out, said local media outlet Pepel.
