Tinubu urges AU action over xenophobic attacks in S’Africa

President Bola Tinubu on Sunday in Angola formally reported the recurring xenophobic and Afrophobic attacks against Africans and other nationals in South Africa to the African Union, declaring that such attacks undermine the continent’s solidarity, unity and peaceful coexistence.

He demanded that African leaders place the matter on the agenda of the next AU Assembly session in January 2027 for collective action.

The President, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, delivered the message at the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union in Luanda, Angola.

Senior Special Assistant to the VP on Media and Communication, Stanley Nkwocha, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday titled ‘President Tinubu Takes Fight Against Xenophobic, Afrophobic Attacks in S’Africa To AU’.
