The 25-year-old chart-topping star has built a dedicated fan base since she graduated from the BRIT School in 2018.‌Her hit single, Messy, flew to the top of the charts in 2024 and she released her critically acclaimed album, I'm Only F**king Myself, in September last year. While out promoting her record, Lola was on stage at the All Things Go Festival in New York City when she collapsed mid-performance.‌Lola made her return to live performing in January this year when she was one of the acts taking part in the 2026 Grammy Awards concerts organised by Spotify. And she played her first full headline concert since the incident in March when she took to the stage at The London Palladium.‌Fans attending the Reading half of the Reading and Leeds festival on Sunday, however, were stunned to see her take to the stage as a special guest. Fans were thrilled to see the singer back on stage and belting out her hits.She told her audience: "I really can't keep a secret and since you haven't seen me for a while, let's spend some time together." Fans were relieved as well as excited to see her on stage following her 2025 health ordeal.‌One fan told the Mirror at the music event in Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading: "I was really worried about her when she collapsed, so its amazing to see her looking so well."Last summer, Lola's fans were panicked when she collapsed mid-performance at her NYC live show. Footage of the distressing moment circulated online - with many reaching out to the star for reassurance she was ok.Reacting to the wall of support she received, Lola later made a statement via social media. She wrote at the time: "Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now. Thank you for all of your support, Lola."‌Earlier this year, Lola opened up to the NME about the inspiration and strength that she pulls from her fans. She told the magazine: “My fans inspire me in the same way I hope to inspire them. I feel like I’ve never tried to be especially honest… it just comes very naturally to me.‌“I don’t really have any other choice but to be honest, so if people connect to that, and that’s amazing.”While fans at Reading were overjoyed to see Lola on stage during her 3:15pm set on The Grid, those attending the event in Leeds were less than pleased. Many took to Instagram to blast festival organisers for including secret performers at only one half of the bank holiday weekend event.One disgruntled fan wrote online: "Leeds tears I love" - while a more explicitly complained, writing: "So Leeds gets f**k all? Yeah sick."
