Seven people have been declared dead so far and another 23 are missing after a ferry carrying a total of 267 passengers capsized off the coast of Turkish-occupied northern Cyprus on Sunday, Turkish-Cypriot authorities have announced.
The ferry had departed the port of Kyrenia, on Cyprus’ northern coast, with 267 passengers, local authorities said.
Local media and the Turkish press reported that the vessel was 4 nautical miles of Kyrenia when it capsized.
