ISTANBUL, August 30. /TASS/. At least 6 people died and 172 others were rescued in a catamaran accident off the coast of Northern Cyprus, TRT Haber reported, citing Unal Ustel, prime minister of the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

"As a result of the incident involving the vessel, which had 267 people on board, 172 people have been rescued, six people have died. Search and rescue operations are continuing," the TV channel quoted Ustel as saying.
