ALBAWABA - Sony's announcement about going all digital has been nothing but mayhem. The tech giant recently stirred debate by announcing the end of physical game releases starting in January 2028, sparking backlash and calls for boycotts like the PlayStation blackout.

However, it seems that backlash has worked, as Gamescom rumors suggest the Japanese tech giant might be backtracking on its words. Online reports claim that it wasn't the backlash that caused Sony's reconsideration, but rather Xbox's new "Disc to Digital program" and rumors that Microsoft will still be supporting physical game releases for its new console, Project Helix.
