The embassy said it is coordinating closely with Nepalese authorities, including the Nepal Police, to ensure that the mortal remains of Indian nationals are handed over to their next of kin after identification.The embassy will issue further updates in coordination with Nepalese authorities, it said.The development comes as India steps up its support for rescue and relief operations following the devastating flash floods. India has also deployed forensic teams to assist with DNA analysis for identification of mortal remains. The flash floods have caused widespread destruction across Nepal, with hundreds killed and thousands reported missing. India is continuing to coordinate with Nepal on the rescue, relief and identification efforts.
