ISLAMABAD: The Privatisation Commission (PC) has extended the deadline for submitting expressions of interest (EoIs) for the acquisition of the Islamabad Electric Supply Company Ltd (Iesco) to Sept 21, from the earlier Sept 7.

The commission said the extension was aimed at facilitating local and international investors and ensuring wider participation in the privatisation process.

Under the government’s privatisation programme, private sector participation is being sought through the acquisition of 51 to 100 per cent of share capital, along with management control, in three power distribution companies: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company, Gujranwala Electric Power Company and Iesco.

The PC said the additional time would enable prospective investors to complete due diligence and submit EOIs, helping ensure a more competitive and transparent process.

It clarified that all other terms and conditions of the EoI process would remain unchanged.
