The Manchester club have also agreed a €40m (£34.3m; $46.4m) deal to sign winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras.Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola said earlier this week that he “cannot guarantee anything” regarding the future of Gakpo.After scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists in 49 appearances during Liverpool’s 2024-25 Premier League title-winning season, Gakpo signed a new five-year contract with Liverpool in August 2025.However, the Netherlands international struggled for form after a relatively strong start to 2025-26, scoring only three times in the league since the turn of the year, featuring in every fixture and regularly starting.He netted three times in four appearances at this summer’s World Cup as his nation exited in the last-32 stage with defeat to Morocco on penalties. He made himself available for selection just days after his partner, Noa, revealed they lost their child during pregnancy.Liverpool signed Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven in a deal worth an initial £37million, potentially rising to £44m with add-ons, in December 2022.
