Okereke, 30, brings a veteran presence to a competition that features Trevin Wallace and Claudin Cherelus, neither of whom has distinguished themselves during the preseason. The Panthers made a significant investment during the offseason in former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Devin Lloyd, who went to his first Pro Bowl in 2025. Okereke was a third-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2019 who has collected 805 tackles and 7.5 sacks over seven seasons. He spent his first four seasons with the Colts and had a career-high 151 tackles and six tackles for loss in 2022, his final season in Indianapolis. He signed with the New York Giants as a free agent in 2023 and has averaged 128 tackles over the past three seasons (46 games). New York released him in March in a cost-cutting move. This story will be updated
