Hailing the annual Puducherry Budget presented by Chief Minister N. Rangasamy in the Assembly, AINRC leader and former Minister K. Lakshminarayanan has said that the governance by the Chief Minister would continue for another five years, as people have immensely benefitted from his long years of public service.The former Minister, in a statement, said that the Chief Minister, during his 25 years of public service, had presented 18 budgets so far. Many of the welfare schemes in Puducherry were launched by Mr. Rangasamy during his tenure as the Chief Minister of the Union Territory. The 2026-27 Budget presented by the Chief Minister caters to the needs of all sections of society. The welfare measures initiated by the Chief Minister have helped people improve their livelihood, he said.The proposal in the 2026-27 Budget to distribute wheat flour, ragi flour, toor dal, sugar, and ghee through ration shops would be of great assistance to the public. The government has decided to distribute these essential items to reduce the financial burden on people, he said.The AINRC leader also hailed the introduction of the Bill to improve the business environment in Puducherry. The government’s commitment to providing jobs and improving economic activity in the UT was evident from the decision to establish a multi-modal special economic zone at Sedarapet and the IT SEZ at Thattanchavady, he said.
