Springbok assistant coach Mzwandile Stick has refused to get drawn into the scrum mind games being played by All Blacks head coach Dave Rennie ahead of Saturday’s second Test in Cape Town.
With their backs against the wall, he insisted that the Boks’ focus remains firmly on what happens between the four lines and on getting the desired results as they look to get their campaign underway.
Rennie has raised questions around the Springboks’ scrum tactics following last weekend’s opening Test in Johannesburg, adding another layer to an already intriguing Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry.
“We have spoken to World Rugby around a few issues from our point of view, but scrum-wise we will be a lot better,” Rennie told the media this week about the set-piece.
