Bryan Kohberger has moved to have a judge who called him a 'faceless coward' disqualified from his case as he attempts to retract his guilty plea in the murders of four University of Idaho students.
The convicted killer, 31, has also asked for a change of venue from Ada County to Latah County, where he initially entered the guilty plea last year.
Kohberger's new attorney Greg Rauch is focusing on Judge Steven Hippler, who sentenced his client to life without parole in July last year.
Rauch has taken issue with the description of Kohberger, who admitted to the murders of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin at their Moscow home in 2022.
'Those statements are fundamentally different from believing Kohberger committed terrible crimes or deserved severe punishment. They are forward-looking judgments about his credibility. And credibility may now be at the center of this proceeding,' the motion said.
