Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi condemned “criminal negligence” and demanded severe punishment for those responsible after a Russian strike on an enterprise in the Kyiv region triggered massive secondary detonations, resulting in casualties and mass evacuations. And all the guilty, without exception, must be severely punished so that such situations do not happen again,” Koretskyi wrote on Telegram. He added that the Kyiv-Chop highway was temporarily closed to facilitate urgent rescue and evacuation measures, demanding an “immediate and strict reaction” from law enforcement. The ongoing fire and detonations into Saturday, Aug. 29, forced authorities to evacuate more than 200 people, including children. Kyiv Regional Military Administration Head Tymur Tkachenko confirmed that the incident has caused fatalities and injuries, though the exact number of victims is still being determined. An operational headquarters has been deployed to the site as emergency services continue to battle the blaze. Negligence probe and regional attacks The secondary explosions were triggered after a Russian drone struck an enterprise in the village of Myla, located in the Bucha district, at approximately 8:10 p.m. local time on Friday, Aug. 28.
