Ukrainian drones struck a major logistics center belonging to the e-commerce company Ozon and warehouses owned by the electronics retailer DNS in Russia’s Rostov region early Saturday morning, Aug. 29. The strikes targeted DNS storage facilities in Rostov-on-Don and Aksay. Rostov Regional Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed the attack, stating that drone fragments were found in the Aksay district and caused a fire in a forest strip.
Simultaneously, a logistics hub belonging to the Russian e-commerce giant Ozon in the Rostov region was also hit. The BBC, citing Ozon’s press service, reported that the strike caused a small fire that has since been extinguished. The company stated that workers were evacuated in advance due to regional drone warnings.
The attacks on the commercial logistics networks coincide with the implementation of a regional state of emergency in the Rostov region, DW reported. According to a decree signed by Slyusar on Aug. 28, the emergency status is retroactively effective from July 10, 2026. The decree cites the suspension of port operations and disrupted shipping in the Azov-Black Sea basin, caused by Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks, as the catalyst for the crisis. Russian authorities state the disruptions have resulted in an accumulation of “significant volumes of agricultural products,” threatening major material losses. Regional Agriculture Minister Anna Kasyanenko has been appointed to lead the emergency response.
