On Friday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order to reestablish a U.S. Space Academy modeled after West Point and other service academies, advancing his broader space agenda.

Training Future Space Leaders

This academy is intended to train future astronauts, engineers and scientists, addressing staffing shortages across NASA’s Artemis moon program and the U.S. Space Force.

It’s not the first initiative of the U.S. president in this direction. During his first term, Trump established the U.S. Space Force as the sixth branch of the military.
