The opening week of the Iowa high school football season is in the books, and what a night we had around the state.Right off the bat, defending Class 5A state champion and top-ranked Dowling Catholic faced a threat against rival West Des Moines Valley. The Maroons, though, dominated the matchup, shutting out the fifth-ranked Tigers, 21-0.Sergeant Bluff-Luton scored a ranked victory over Sioux City Bishop Heelan, with Iowa City West securing the boot over rival Iowa City High.
