Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says it has retained “decisive control” over the Strait of Hormuz, and that US officials continue to “lie” about the status of the waterway to influence energy prices.
White House spokesman, meanwhile, tells Al Jazeera Strait of Hormuz is de-mined and safe for transit, reiterating US government line that no talks with Iran are taking place or scheduled.
