NEW YORK, August 28. /TASS/. Fourteen Russian men and women will compete in singles at the 2026 US Open in this year’s final Grand Slam tournament opening on Sunday.
In men’s singles Russia will be represented by Daniil Medvedev (7th-seed), Andrey Rublev (23rd), Karen Khachanov and Roman Safiullin (both unseeded).
On the women's side, they have: Mirra Andreeva (5th-seed), Diana Shnaider (15th), Yekaterina Alexandrova (18th), Anna Kalinskaya (21st), Lyudmila Samsonova, Anna Blinkova, Alina Korneyeva, Anastasia Zakharova (all unseeded), Polina Yatsenko and Kristina Lyutova, two of the tournament's many qualifiers.
Russia’s Yelena Pridankina still has a chance to enter the women’s singles if she gets a lucky-loser pass.
The 2026 US Open is played on outdoor hard courts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York between August 30 and September 13. The tournament will award a record $108 million in prize money. Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz are the tournament’s reigning champions in women’s and men’s singles respectively.
