Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Netflix is developing a spinoff of its hit series Manifest.
The streaming service announced Arrivals: A New Manifest Mystery, a new show in the Manifest universe, on Fri, Aug. 28, or 8/28, a reference to flight 828, a significant number in the original show.
Manifest series creator Jeff Rake will return, along with executive producers Margaret Easley and Laura Putney, who will now serve as co-creators and showrunners of the spinoff.
"I'm delighted to be able to tell a new story for the Manifest fans out there and also for a brand-new audience," Rake told Netflix's Tudum. "It's been five long years since we showed up on Netflix, and there's probably half a generation who has never heard of Manifest. We've tried to thread the needle in a way that's rewarding for the OG Manifest fans, but also equally rewarding for people who are brand new to the show."
