Head coach Fatih Tekke
Trabzonspor have rejected head coach Fatih Tekke’s resignation following the Turkish club’s heavy Europa League defeat by Ferencvaros.
Tekke offered to step down after Trabzonspor were beaten 4-0 in Hungary on Thursday, resulting in a 5-0 aggregate defeat in their play-off tie.
As reported by BBC Sport, however, the club rejected the 48-year-old’s resignation on Friday, explaining that his decision was influenced by the “intense emotional impact” of the European exit.
Tekke guided Trabzonspor to a third-place finish in the Turkish Super Lig last season and will now remain in charge as the club turns its attention to the Europa Conference League.
