LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Cristin Milioti said her horror-comedy Buddy, in theaters Friday, reminded her of Pee-wee's Playhouse. "Buddy" is a fictional children's show from 1999 in which Buddy the singing unicorn (voice of Keegan-Michael Key) murders children who do not comply and sing along.
Milioti plays Grace, a mother who gets sucked into the show.
In a recent Zoom interview with UPI, Milioti, 41, said she enjoyed playing a character within the "Buddy" show. Buddy's friends include a talking backpack named Strappy (Patton Oswalt), Trashy the trash can (Eric Bauza) and Couchy (Bauza).
"To be able to go into that Pee-wee's Playhouse world and be a character in that who's completely brainwashed, I was so excited to get to play in both of those universes," Milioti said.
