'Together, we are stronger,' Finnish President Alexander Stubb said
Sweden will contribute fighter jets and naval vessels to surveil Finnish territory for drones, Stockholm and Helsinki said on Friday.
The new arrangement will strengthen Finland’s ability to detect and counter drones and support NATO’s deterrence and defence on its northern and eastern flanks, the Swedish government said.
“Sweden will in the future participate in monitoring and securing Finland’s territorial integrity with fighter aircraft and naval vessels,” Finnish Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen said on X.
The surveillance will remain under Finnish command and be conducted in accordance with Finland’s territorial surveillance legislation, Häkkänen stressed.
