The beauty retailer now expects earnings per share of $28.70 to $29 for the year, up from a prior range of $28.36 to $28.80
Ulta $ULTA Beauty raised its full-year guidance on Thursday after second-quarter profit and revenue came in above Wall Street's expectations.
For the full year, the company now projects earnings per share of $28.70 to $29, revised upward from its previous guidance range of $28.36 to $28.80. Ulta also revised its annual sales growth target upward to 6.7%–7.2% from 6%–7%, while its comparable-store sales guidance moved to 3.2%–3.7%, tightening the low end from the prior 2.5%–3.5% band.
Second-quarter net income climbed to $282 million, or $6.55 per share, from $260.9 million, or $5.78 per share, in the year-ago quarter. Analysts had projected earnings of $6.20 a share, according to The Wall Street Journal.
