U.S. stock futures traded mixed ahead of Friday’s session, as investors await Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh’s latest speech at the central bank’s annual symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Warsh’s comments are expected to provide clues on the Fed’s interest rate outlook. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 (NDX) and the S&P 500 Index (SPX) were down 0.24% and 0.08%, respectively, while those on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) were up 0.09% at 1:30 a.m. EDT on August 28.
Oil prices trended lower at the time of writing even as Washington confirmed that the U.S. was not in talks with Iran. At the time of writing, Brent crude (CM:BZ) was down 0.35% to $89.39 per barrel, while WTI crude (CM:CL) fell 0.30% to $83.28 per barrel.
In Thursday’s regular trading session, major U.S. indices ended higher, as semiconductor giant Nvidia’s (NVDA) strong results and outlook lifted investor sentiment. The Nasdaq Composite gained 1.57%, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones rose 0.72% and 0.20%, respectively.
Turning to key stocks to watch, Gap (GAP) shares soared 15% in after-hours trading despite mixed Q2 2026 results, as the retailer announced a new CEO for the struggling Old Navy brand.
