If November marks the start of the Hot Stove Season, then September is the unofficial opening of the Hot Seat Season. We say “unofficial,” because a seat can grow hot at any time. Already this year there have managerial changes in Boston, New York and Philadelphia. With the dismissal of Astros general manager Dana Brown last week, there are now three teams in the American League West operating with interim leaders in the baseball operations department.
And there will be more changes afoot heading into this offseason. So let’s talk about it. Who is on the hot seat? Whose seat should be hotter? How different will certain coaching staffs and front offices look whenever the 2027 season kicks off?
