(Courtesy of a reader-Yonhap) A Chinese university lecturer accused of killing one of his former students has refused to take a psychopathy test, police said Friday.The suspect initially agreed to take the assessment but later revoked his consent, according to the Gyeongsan Police Station in North Gyeongsang Province. The test is difficult to conduct without the subject's consent because it requires an interview, according to police.Police are considering the possibility that Jeong refused the test out of concern that its results could affect future court proceedings.Jeong is accused of killing a 25-year-old Chinese international student at his residence in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan, North Gyeongsang Province, in the early hours of Aug. 20. He is also suspected of mutilating her body and disposing of the remains at several locations across the country.Police said Thursday that Jeong admitted during questioning that he killed the woman. He also told investigators that after the killing, he disposed of parts of the victim's body at multiple locations, including areas in Gyeongsan and Gyeonggi Province.Police are continuing searches around locations where Jeong is believed to have discarded the remains.Jeong filed the missing person report for the victim himself and wore the victim’s clothes in the public, in what is believed to have been an effort to fool police into believing she had left the residence. Security camera footage shows him wearing her clothes on the way to Dongdaegu Station, during which time he carried her phone. He then turned off the phone and returned home.He faces an additional charge of obstruction of official duties by deception.Jeong graduated from a university in the region and had been working at a hospital in North Gyeongsang Province while also serving as a part-time lecturer since 2023, police said.The victim had previously taken one of Jeong's classes. She came to Korea on Aug. 14 to attend her graduation ceremony.However, her family and acquaintances lost contact with her on Aug. 20, the day of the ceremony. She was found dead at Jeong's home Tuesday.
