The “Scooby-Doo” live-action Netflix series has added both Andre “3000” Benjamin and Cathy Moriarty in recurring roles.
The series, which is officially titled “Scooby-Doo: Origins,” is currently filming in Atlanta and is scheduled to premiere in 2027.
As previously announced, the Mystery Inc. gang will consist of Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones, Tanner Hagen as Norville “Shaggy” Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake. Paul Walter Hauser is also set to appear in the series in an undisclosed role.
Additional cast members include Sara Gilbert, Bruce McGill, Sherilyn Fenn, and more. Exact character details are being kept under wraps.
In addition to his groundbreaking music career with Outkast and as a solo artist, Benjamin has appeared in numerous films and TV series. His best known features include “Idlewild,” “Be Cool,” “Four Brothers,” and the Jimi Hendrix biopic “Jimi: All Is By My Side.” He also appeared in the shows “The Shield,” “Dispatches From Elsewhere,” and “American Crime.”
