Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth last June announced a six-month review dubbed the 'NATO 3.0 review'
US Under Secretary of Defence for Policy, Elbridge Colby, met with NATO ambassadors and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Brussels on Thursday to update allies on the US force posture review expected by the end of the year.
Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth last June announced a six-month review dubbed the “NATO 3.0 review” to reassess the US military presence in Europe, based on allies meeting their defence spending targets.
The Trump administration sent out a questionnaire to capitals to inform its audit, Colby confirmed on Thursday.
The Pentagon wants to understand how to manage the allies’ recent multi-billion defence investments over time, praising Germany and Poland for their defence budget boosts.
