Plaud has announced $250 wireless earbuds with 4G connectivity that record conversations and let an AI assistant act on what was said, with pre-orders open in eight countries including Germany and France. Both criminalise recording another person’s private speech without consent.
Plaud has put a cellular microphone in your ears. The $250 Plaud One earbuds carry an eSIM that works on networks in more than 80 countries, recording conversations for an AI assistant without a phone in the loop.
The assistant does not wait to be asked. Plaud says it listens for conversational context and executes tasks mentioned during a meeting, drafting an email or a document from action items it overheard.
The first run is deliberately small. Two thousand units ship in the fourth quarter as an “Explorer Edition,” bundled with $200 of credits, while the company gathers feedback in Discord before deciding on a wider release.
Six of the eight pre-order markets are European. Alongside the United States and Canada, buyers can order in the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.
