He said authorities would not release an unverified figure while efforts continued to establish the full details of the attack and locate the victims.

The Niger State government said the abductors of worshippers taken from a mosque in Borgu Local Government Area have not made contact with authorities since the attack on Friday.

The state Commissioner for Information, Obed Nuhu, disclosed this in an interview with Channels TV on Thursday, saying the government was still working to determine the number of people abducted.

Nuhu said the attackers struck at three different locations in the Borgu area. He said the government suspected Lakurawa and Boko Haram militants were responsible for the attacks, although investigations were still ongoing.
