Security agencies have intensified efforts to rescue Muslims worshippers abducted by suspected bandits in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has deployed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Victor Olaiya, to coordinate the rescue operation.
The operation is being conducted in collaboration with other security agencies, with the aim of securing the safe release of the abducted worshippers.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adamu Elleman, disclosed this on Thursday during an interactive session with journalists in Minna.
Mr Elleman, who was represented by the command’s spokesperson, Wasiu Abiodun, a superintendent of police, said the rescue operation commenced in compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police.
