Tiguan — a long-anticipated move, widely expected following the introduction of the ID. Polo and the analogous switch from ID.3 to ID. Neo. Earlier this year, journalists — including the editorial team from electrive — were also given a preview of the production model during Volkswagen’s week-long press event in Hamburg. What does the VW ID. Tiguan look like in detail?
There has been a lot of speculation about the design, with suggestions that Volkswagen might align the ID.4’s distinctive electric look more closely with the Tiguan’s exterior, even though the ID. Tiguan is intended to remain recognisable as a standalone model. This now appears to be the case: well-known YouTuber Thomas Majchrzak has published a short video on his channel “Autogefühl,” briefly showcasing the partially camouflaged successor from the front and rear. Visible through the foil, the front end becomes more angular and features a continuous light signature—both hallmarks of Volkswagen’s current design language, as seen in recently launched vehicles for the Chinese market. The rear view also signals a departure from the existing ID.4 design, appearing less fragmented and featuring angular lights.
