With rapid advances in technology and Artificial Intelligence constantly changing the skills required by industry, there is need for the government, industry, research institutions and educational institutions to work in close coordination to make the youth industry ready, said IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu.Speaking at a certificate distribution programme organised by Boeing, Learning Links Foundation (LLF) and the Central Institute of Tool Design (CITD) here on Wednesday, the Minister said this highlighting the importance of stakeholders joining hands with the State government in strengthening Telangana’s skilling ecosystem and building a future-ready workforce.The government was working to equip Telangana’s youth with skills aligned with changing industry requirements and emerging technologies, he said, handing over the certificates to youth, persons with disabilities and veterans who successfully completed the Boeing Skilling Programme.Mr. Sridhar Babu said the government was readying plans to expand skill development programmes across the State in partnership with industries and entrepreneurs. He urged industries to come forward and participate in the government’s skilling, upskilling and reskilling initiatives. The objective was to create a workforce equipped to meet the evolving needs of industry and enable youth to take advantage of emerging opportunities.The Young India Skills University was providing training aligned with industry needs, while government ITIs were being transformed into Advanced Technology Centres to offer modern, industry-oriented training, the Minister’s office said in a release on his address at the programme.
