Armed police swarmed a house near Middlesbrough this afternoon following a suspected knife attack.
A youth is understood to have suffered serious injuries in the incident on the Bankfields estate in Eston - just down the road from a scene of a fatal fire yesterday.
An air ambulance was called to the scene and landed on a nearby football pitch before airlifting the injured teenager to hospital.
A neighbour said: 'He was running around the estate trying to get help and had what seemed to be really severe wounds to his arm and hand.
'It's terrifying that all the kids are tooled up with knives and machetes now, which is why the armed police had to turn out. It seems like the whole town has gone crazy.'
