Jan Kruger/Getty ImagesAug. 27, 2026 9:40 am EDT Updated Fiorentina are advancing in talks with Manchester United over a loan move for Joshua Zirkzee.United have been open to offers for the Dutch forward, and there is a growing chance he leaves the club before the September 1 deadline.Several clubs in Serie A have been interested in Zirkzee this summer, with Juventus previously the most active, while Como also made an enquiry.But Fiorentina have emerged this week as a genuine route for the 25-year-old. They are set to need a striker with Moise Kean expected to be sold to Como, who are strengthening for their Champions League entry.
Current terms of negotiation are over a loan with a fee, plus an option to buy. The deal will have to make sense for United to accept.United have been looking at centre-forwards should Zirkzee depart, but so far these have centred on loan prospects.Zirkzee joined United from Bologna in 2024 for a fee of £36.5million and has scored nine times in 75 games for United. He had some success in Italy, getting 11 goals in 34 Serie A matches in the season before he moved to Old Trafford.Last season, he made 26 appearances and scored only twice.Fiorentina finished 15th in Serie A last season, and lost their first game of the 2026-27 campaign against Roma.
