Apple has moved through 2026 in bursts. First came a new AirTag in January, followed by a packed March launch cycle and two major Mac updates in August. Add everything up, and Apple has announced 11 new hardware products this year, with its biggest event still ahead.
AirTag 2 started the year
Apple’s first new hardware of 2026 arrived on January 26 with the second-generation AirTag.
AirTag 2 uses Apple’s second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, extending Precision Finding range by up to 50%. It also offers a longer Bluetooth range, a louder speaker, and Precision Finding from compatible Apple Watch models.
Apple kept pricing unchanged at $29 for one AirTag or $99 for a four-pack. Amazon currently lists each for $24 and $79.99, respectively.
