Patsy Kensit has opened up about the early days of her romance with Oasis rocker Liam Gallagher, before their union ended in utter heartbreak12:57, 27 Aug 2026Updated 12:59, 27 Aug 2026Patsy Kensit has revealed that she doesn't 'regret' starting up a romance with Liam Gallagher while still married to Jim Kerr, the lead singer of Simple Minds.‌The actress opened up about a number of topics including meeting her ex-husband, Oasis' Liam Gallagher, 53, who she met while flying on a plane to Glasgow in a candid new interview.‌Patsy, 58, revealed that she and rocker Liam got together after repeatedly running into each other and added that 'quite sweet' and wasn't 'sleazy' as she and her husband at the time were already leading 'separate lives'.‌"We just kept running into each other. It was something that happened, and it was quite sweet. I mean, it wasn't a sleazy coming together. Jim and I were leading separate lives," she said on Davina McCall's podcast Begin Again.She added that while she has some regrets, she ultimately is glad that it happened as she and Liam had a son together, Lennon Gallagher who was born in 1999.‌"Do I regret that? Yeah, I look back now. But then I wouldn't have had my youngest son, and that's the blessing that came out of it. Because, there were some very tough times in in in that marriage."The couple was married from 1997 until they divorced in 2000. The Emmerdale star revealed that while with Liam, the relationship got 'so big' that it eclipsed her own acting career."I think what I forgot in that time was how much I'd done before it. Yeah, and that was, and I I lost that for a little bit," she told Davina on the podcast. "Because that relationship became so big, and it was bigger than me, and and therefore, the pressure was huge, and so yeah, of course, the Vanity Fair cover and all of that stuff, people love it. It was a very iconic time.‌"I lost part of who I was going into that relationship. Somehow lost her."‌Patsy said it was Liam's brother Noel who took her aside and gave her a bit of a wake up call when he asked her why she wasn't continuing to pursue her acting career."I remember Noel, who is lovely and divine, and I always tend to bump into him, and he's just always been lovely to me over the years. And I remember him taking me to one side and said, He said, 'Why aren't you working? Why aren't you?' Because I was always off doing films and going to the stages, and I remember saying 'Because I'm too afraid to leave him on his own', and he was like, "Yeah, you should be doing more.'"She added that of course it wasn't all doom and gloom in the relationship and she and Liam had some great times together: "And then it [the marriage] ran its course. But there were some fantastic times. I mean, we were very irresponsible, and I always say I had some very late nights in the 90s."Article continues belowPatsy went on to marry for the fourth time in 2009 to Jeremy Healy. The couple has since divorced and Patsy called off her fifth engagement just a few years ago to Irish property tycoon, Patric Cassidy.Liam later was in a relationship with Nicola Appleton with the couple getting together soon after his divorce and later marrying from 2008 until 2014.Like this story?
