A sport-loving teenage girl died after collapsing at a Cornwall cricket club.Amélia Jones, 14, was rushed to hospital last Thursday evening by air ambulance after collapsing at Grampound Road Cricket Club, near St Austell.She was declared dead a short time later.Amélia has been described as 'intelligent' and 'talented' in heartbreaking tributes, as a fundraiser launched to support her family exceeds £19,000.The page, set up by her uncle Sean Jones, said she was 'a deeply loved daughter, sister, friend, and the cherished twin' to her sister.'She had the most beautiful smile and brought so much happiness to the people around her,' it went on.Amélia loved sport including netball and cricket, and a week before her death she captained Cornwall's under-14s girls team against Glamorgan.An 'exceptionally talented and academically gifted' student, she was studying for her Grade 8 piano and Grade 5 clarinet exams, and was being supported at school to take additional GCSEs. This is believed to be a medical incident not connected to cricket.'The Club chair Lewis Sanders added: 'Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family, friends and everyone who knew and loved her at this unimaginably difficult time. We will respect the family's privacy and ask others to do the same.'We would also like to thank all those who responded on Thursday evening, particularly those who provided immediate first aid and the emergency services including the Cornwall Air Ambulance.'
