The 75-year-old broadcaster was dazzled by vehicle lights on 4 March before colliding with two stationary vehicles near Hampstead Heath in north London. North London area coroner Tony Murphy determined her cause of death was bronchopneumonia brought on by rib and sternum fractures sustained in the accident. Dame Jenni, who was the longest-serving host of Woman's Hour after leading the show for 30 years, passed away peacefully in hospital on 12 March. The Metropolitan Police conducted an investigation into the collision on Wildwood Road but closed the case with no further action.
