Dollar Tree $DLTR reported second-quarter results on Thursday that beat analyst expectations and prompted the company to raise its full-year profit outlook, citing a boost from tariff refunds.
Diluted earnings per share came in at $2.70 for the quarter ending August 1, compared with $0.91 in the same period a year ago. The result incorporated a $1.31-per-share gain from tariff refunds, Dollar Tree disclosed. Analysts polled by FactSet had expected adjusted earnings of $1.15 a share, according to the Wall Street Journal.
