CALASIAO, Pangasinan – For reforesting the denuded Daang Kalikasan in Mangatarem town with native tree seedlings, the Pangasinan Native Trees Enthusiasts Inc. (PangNTE) has been recognized by the ASEAN Center for Biodiversity (ACB).
The ACB commended the group for its “efforts in implementing a meaningful and impactful restoration initiative that demonstrates the value of collaborative and locally driven action addressing environmental challenges.”
“Your initiative represents a valuable contribution to ecosystem restoration and biodiversity conservation efforts in the ASEAN region,” the ACB said in a letter to the PangNTE headed by Celso Salazar. The group was honored in the medium-scale category of the ASEAN Green Initiative (AGI).
